snowman19
This is a very fragile system that could easily collapse to nothing for people near the coast. I never liked these inverted trough type setups. Plus, obviously it's April now. But if it does come together there could be surprises. This one might come down to a now cast.Beware of models showing inverted troughs setting up here. They almost always favor eastern New England because of topography... donsutherland1
With some of the guidance pointing to the possibility of measurable snowfall on Saturday, April 9, it's worth noting that the last time NYC saw measurable snowfall on April 9 or later was April 9, 2000 when 1.2" fell. Below is a list of such snowfalls since 1890 and notable snowfalls that occurred on April 9 or later since 1800.

MJO812
rain for the city Based off what? We will be good if the low stays under the area. H5 looked great on the GFS. This would be a bigger storm if there was more separation from todays storm.

WeatherFeen2000
If the real solution is 35 miles south of what the 12z GFS is showing NYC jackpots! Someone could easily get 6 inches out of this! Sent from MAM

mob1
While temperatures are initially too warm, it certainly cools down a lot for latter part of the storm, it's in the low mid thirties Saturday evening with snow still falling. But NW areas are the ones that might actually have snow accumulate.

SnoSki14
A nice interior gift for those screwed over so miserably this winter. I see white rain but perhaps light accumulations away from the city, the more elevation the better.
