The JFK peak wind gust data is very impressive going back to the blizzard with numerous days of 40 mph or higher gusts.

2/11....46

2/13....49

2/16....55

2/25....53

2/26....41

3/2......46

3/17....45

3/18....40

3/28....49

3/29....52

4/3......64...possibly one of the highest wind gusts recorded in April

JFK adds another 40+ to the list

And that's after last Friday wildly cut down the departure.

Yeah, this was only the 5th calendar week that was below normal since last May.

Makes the first below zero since 1994 even more amazing.

June 1-7...........-7.3

October 1-7......-2.0

October 15-21...-1.9

February 8-15...-10.4....first below zero since 1994

April 1-7...........-1.8

Going off the GFSx, every single day in the second week of April will also be below normal. Normal is already 58/42 today.

I hope so. I can't stand this weather right now. It's disgusting.

GFS has been hinting that warmer spring weather returns and sticks around starting the 16th. The model lost it for a couple runs yesterday but brought it back again in today's runs. "Heatwave" is a bit extreme, but 60s and 70s maybe.

Stop talking about the snow already.   Heatwave starts about 4/16,17 and goes for a week w/o much precip.    85 on the 20th?

With all the blocking out there, any warmth may be transient due to potential for backdoor cold fronts and cut off lows.

Yeah, I don't think I'd call it a heatwave. 70s definitely look possibly though.

Figures that we get our first two week cold pattern since March 2015 during April when everyone

is ready for spring. This was officially the warmest April through March on record for NYC.

It was also the greatest one year temperature rise over a previous year on record from

April 2014 to March 2015 by around 5 degrees.
