Mapgirl was wiped off the grid quick. We might not hear from here for a while. ;)

I'm alive. Crazy winds when the squall hit, power didn't last 10 min. Came back on at 1am. No damage around the yard thankfully, a lot of grauple though to be found.

The latest LWX discussion...

A BAND OF SHOWERS IS EXPECTED TO PUSH SOUTH THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING. THE SHOWERS MAY BE GUSTY WITH INVERTED-V AHEAD OF THE
FRONT...BUT BELOW SEVERE LEVELS. BEHIND THE FRONT...COLDER AIR
RUSHING IN WILL CHANGE ANY LINGERING PRECIP OVER TO SNOW ALONG THE
ALLEGHENY FRONT...WITH ACCUMULATIONS GENERALLY AN INCH OR LESS.

THE COLDER AIR WILL SWEEP EASTWARD THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH NW
GUSTS 25-35 MPH CONTINUING MUCH OF THE NIGHT. FOR THIS
REASON...LOW TEMP FORECAST IS A LITTLE UNCERTAIN...ESPECIALLY
SOUTHERN TIER OF COUNTIES. HAVE UPGRADED TO A FREEZE WARNING WHERE
THERE IS A LITTLE MORE CERTAINTY AND WILL LET DAY SHIFT DETERMINE
THE FATE OF THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES. THERE COULD BE AN
ISOLATED SNOW SHOWER EAST OF THE ALLEGHENIES EARLY BUT CONFIDENCE
LOW.

&&

.SHORT TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT/...

-- Changed Discussion --

HIGH PRESSURE QUICKLY BUILDS TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT. DRY CONDITIONS EXPECTED WITH DIMINISHING WINDS. WELL BELOW NORMAL FOR TUESDAY...WITH HIGHS ONLY IN THE 40S EXCEPT FAR SOUTH. TUESDAY NIGHT LOOKS MORE LIKE A SURE BET FOR WIDESPREAD FREEZING CONDITIONS. HAVE ISSUED A FREEZE WATCH FOR THIS PERIOD IN COLLABORATION WITH SURROUNDING OFFICES DUE TO THE HIGHER CONFIDENCE IN SUBFREEZING TEMPERATURES. NEXT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BE MOVING THROUGH THE GREAT LAKES WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT. TIMING HAS SLOW SUCH THAT THE DAYTIME WILL BE DRY AND A LITTLE MILDER...AND EVEN MOST OF THE NIGHT SHOULD BE DRY...ESPECIALLY EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE. LOWS WILL BE MILDER IN THE 40S SO ONLY RAIN IS EXPECTED.

-- End Changed Discussion --

&&

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...

-- Changed Discussion --

(snip)

TRAILING LOW/DISTURBANCE MAY KEEP SHOWERS GOING THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY AS COLD AIR ADVECTS SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE AREA...AND GIVEN STRENGTH OF AIR MASS A FEW SNOW FLAKES ARE NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION. ANOTHER REINFORCING SHOT OF COLD AIR COMES DOWN FRIDAY NIGHT WITH ANOTHER SHOT OF RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS. WHILE ADVECTION WILL PREVAIL FREEZING CONDITIONS LOOK LIKELY ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA. SOME WIND HEADLINES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE GIVEN GRADIENT. WARMING WILL FINALLY BEGIN SUNDAY AS TROUGH STARTS LIFTING AWAY.

-- End Changed Discussion --
