Damage In Tolland

Recommended Posts

This gives a rough idea as ORD and surrounding wind condition should translate straight across our neck of the woods during max impact of this ...  Note the multiple gusting to 45 to 55 + MPH ; this could also be augmented even somewhat stronger as dymamical mixing may transport yet even more proficiently than we see here, do to trough reach more amplitude as it skirts through...  Also, noting the convective cells popping off over N Indian on radar -

Does anyone think this healthy antecedent dousing augments the risk of downed trees tomorrow?

Would not think so? never say never, but don't think this is a classic setup for uprooting due to

saturated soil... could be a couple but doubt it is big factor. Frequent strong wind events of late

may have helped prune some of the weak / dead stuff, which could help; but given the modeled wind

speeds and look of the setup, significant tree damage is decent bet.

How narrow is the heavy snow band? Does the western Rt 2 corridor look ok or do you need to get E of ORH to get into accumulating snows?

You'll get accumulating snow...not sure if it will be 1-2" or 4-6" yet there, but you'll accumulate.

I'm guessing we'll wind up an inch or two that gets blown away leaving lots of bare ground.  We'll have some sticks come down so whatever yard work you've done has to get cleaned up again.

In other words, the winter of 2015-16 continues.

Pretty similar look from us. I think that most in CT are closer to 1-2" and the best is pike and north, but there's enough of a chance to warrant calling out some higher amounts.

I like a KBED jackpot with this one I think with a narrow band of 6" or so. 4" for both BOS and ORH.

seems like a CCB situation where you won't see the east west lines

That's about as an intense of a vort max I have seen ripping south of SNE

in a long, long time! little changes in the final track of vort max likely to

make for some meaningful shifts in where best west to east S+ zone sets up; as

well as where nastiest wind max occurs?post-976-0-48289200-1459624706_thumb.png
