71 degrees, full sun, and strong southwest winds.  About 30 degrees warmer than this time yesterday, and 45 degrees warmer than just 9hrs ago.

Des Moines torching at 80.

Yeah, usual hot spot Des Moines is 80 now.  Cedar Rapids is at  77, so even we have a shot at 80.  The local mets have been way under-forecasting today's temp.  The euro saw the warmth days ago, but even it way underdid the temp.

Unfortunately, the euro says we won't even hit 50 again until next Sunday.

Yeah it's a classic over-performer setup.  Excellent mixing, very dry air, dry ground/virtually no ambient transpiration, favorable westerly winds, incoming cool front, and 850s increasing up through sunset.  Looks like highs may occur in the 5-6pm range for many locations, so still several hours to go.

72 here, up from 23 this morning. 49 point difference with the temp still increasing. Incredible.

Not sure I have seen such a drastic "cold to warm" swing.

I'm a little west of MKE this afternoon. 66° there currently. This weekend can be described as bipolar.

Good lord Bo!

What's the ratios like?
