JerseyWx
More dramatic than that. The past several days it's been in the mid/upper 80s/90F at my location and upper 60s (even mid 60s occasionally) on the beach front with a gusty south wind. Nice for those who live on the coast and want to save on A/C. Living near the Monmouth coast, I don't think one would need to install their A/C until mid June. It's incredible how much the temperature can change in such a short distance at the Jersey Shore. I was in Avon last week, and about a quarter mile off the beach it was already 5-7 degrees warmer. LongBeachSurfFreak
The sea breeze when I was in CT on Sunday was also fantastic. It was gorgeous down at the shore and the breeze was still pretty good about 5 miles inland. I can remember an Ambrose Jet day back in the 80's that also had severe gusts on a squall line gust front. While I am not sure of the exact date, the winds peeled off a section of a flat roof apartment complex on Shore Road near Monroe beach. Before my time but have heard story's. Guys said 70mph gusts and just mayhem. 12 foot surf at 7 seconds aka monster white cap after monster white cap. Usually when we have 12 foot waves periods are 12 seconds and above. Pretty cool science bet understood by surfers. I have only seen 55ish Ambrose get in the early 2000s and it was unforgettable
jm1220
I have seen Ambrose jet events with 50mph gusts right at the beach and just an absolute sandstorm. As in if you weren't wearing pants your legs would get shredded. The interesting thing is most other times we have winds that strong and it's not raining its winter westerlys and no ones on the beach. The dry sand with winds that strong make a mini Sahara Yep, I've been in that before. April/May, even some of June on the beach can be brutal late in the afternoon. Luckily this year seems to have done well on the backdoor-front misery makers in the spring.

bluewave
Thanks everyone. It was a long vacation lol The biggest rainstorm since February 24th was your welcome back. Maybe this means the drought pattern is finally shifting... I am rooting for that warm front to really produce this weekend since this pattern has been so boring. jm1220
9 soldiers dead at Fort Hood from flash floods there. That's about an hour drive north of me. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/9-fort-hood-soldiers-dead-texas-flooding-tragedy-n585126 Where I am, last May had much more rain than this May (I had about 9" or so this May vs 20" last May), but there were areas of much heavier rain including at Austin's airport that flooded some of the main rivers, including the Colorado and Blanco Rivers. Are you set on Wantage twp. Rather big area overall. There are a few nice homes on the main lake in Highland Lakes for sale now or coming on in July. Sparta, NJ is a nice in the southern part of Sussex County. Crystal Springs is decent overall. Don't really need to leave the complex. Not Wantage twp. Animal
House near ballyowen. And then invite me for golf. I recently started playing golf. Taking lessons at Crystal Springs. The 5 courses there are solid is my understanding. I almost bought a home in crystal springs, but decided on Highland Lakes.
