The gfs would be a solid snow event if it were a month ago. The system is energetic but there's now enough intensification for much accumulating snow and timing sucks. Record lows once it passes though, there's going to be vegetation damage from all this cold especially the further south you go.

It still gives us 2-4 inches. Have to watch this.

......... and so it ends .........

RC your insight

Is so very keen...

But I fear I know

Not what you mean..

Is it the end of the bad

And the start of the good?

Will happiness prevail

And the days be bright?

Or will the stars above

Withhold their light?

Many are the days

I've lived in fear

Of a fate too awful

For any soul to bear

Tell me words

That will allay my worry

And RC...

Please do it in a hurry!

I moved slowly towards the East seeking the star in the darkening light. I stumbled looking, looking  and fell as snowflakes closed my eyes.

The snow continues, a blanket, a shroud. The night white remains victorious.

Why not? June in December; December in April. Welcome to 2016.

The Times should consider hiring that guy; he could go places...

The entire event occurs during the day. That's enough said right there. This time of year, at our latitude, you need a bombing low to really thump (heavy to very heavy precip rates) with dynamic cooling to get anything more than non accumulating white rain. The indirect sunlight is killer in April so those snow maps are very deceiving and extremely inaccurate. Plus, there will be boundary layer issues to boot. It isn't like you will have entrenched unmodified arctic air in place

You make some fair points; but I have a good feeling about this one...especially out where I am at...the 20 year cycle is a *very* important one.

The joy I know

From being me

Is an ecstasy that sets

One's heart so free

I soar like a bird

I fly like a kite

I laugh all day

And all through the night

When my end comes

I do not know

But I'll depart with a smile

Wider than any could know

I must concede...I wrote two very cute extemporaneous (spur of the moment) poems today...I am happy.
