Since 1950, measurable April snow has occurred in roughly 1-in-4 to 6 years in the NYC Metro Area, though NYC hasn't seen measurable April snow since 2006. That should probably read NYC, Central Park to be exact, hasn't measured any April snow since 2006. The mid April 2014 snow I'm sure accumulated a couple of tenths of an inch in Central Park just like it did in every surrounding reporting station. The zookeeper was probably napping, tired, lazy, didn't give a crap, not there, doing something unnautral with the monkeys etc, etc, etc. SOS. What a delightful way to moderate a public forum. Regardless if it was something that happened "behind the scenes", it would be nice if the community received some sort of explanation, as Yanks commentary was clearly valued by many (as shown by the comments in this discussion calling for his return).
