StormerSite
I run a large website that focuses on hail storms and information. What started as a small site that just mirrored the NOAA reports has grown into over a million pages of data and nearly 500,000 pageviews a month. I want to offer my users the ability to create a hail map which will not only show the storm path, but also the data from individual cells during the that timeframe. The data I want is the following: ZTIME,WSR_ID,CELL_ID,PROB,SEVPROB,MAXSIZE,LAT,LON2015-06-01T00:00:00Z,KTBW,Q5,100,10,.5,27.972,-82.3812015-06-01T00:00:07Z,KFTG,C5,100,10,.5,38.723,-102.4152015-06-01T00:00:07Z,KFTG,V6,100,70,1.75,38.937,-102.696 Here is an example of how I want to present the data over an image of the storm path.: http://www.stormersite.com/hailtrends/hailmap.cfm?swathid=9935 I currently download data from www.ncdc.noaa.gov/swdiws/csv/nx3hail/date1:date2 to get the information I need. This data is usually about 7 or more days behind and I have found that it isn't complete at times. I also have a live feed of the data, but it isn't dependable and crashes several times per day. The admin who was kind enough to allow me free access is now gone, so I don't dare ask someone to fix it. Not being a meteorologist makes it hard because I don't know which source of data holds this info. Is there a place to capture this data LIVE so users can create hail maps like the one above shortly after a hail report? I am trying to keep the information free for my users, but I don't mind paying a small monthly fee for access if need be.
