looked like there was some bright banding on radar, might have been a stray flake making it down under the heaviest returns

either way, that band of 2-4" isn't going to materialize

Except right at the higher elevations of Mt. Geos ;)

15z run of the HRRR definitely wasn't too excited about it. Going to be tougher to get accumulations after the soaker this morning.

Going to be a real nail-biter around here. HRRR keep temps below freezing for nearly an inch of precip. Seems hard to believe but looking at surface obs the temp actually fell between 9 and 10am to -2.5C (27.5F) and we're still sitting at -2.2C (28.0F) at noon.

Thankfully temps are rising really fast across southern Ontario right now so we should be out of the woods.

Should have said far northern McHenry.

Was looking at this page in Hebron. Reporting light snow at freezing.

https://www.wunderground.com/webcams/ILWSstateline/1/show.html

BUU was reporting snow at 11:35am

I'm in Rosemont right now where it's all liquid, but pulling up my cam at home in Libertyville I can confirm that the precip is of the mixed variety.

Should be into the metro in time for rush hour. 0.89" of rain since yesterday.

Solid spring storm for me. Nice boomers last night, with a deluge this morning, and some backside heavy snow on the way.

Picked up 1.21" so far today.

As has been the story time and time again this winter, somewhat disappointed to not see anything close to the big totals advertised up north.

About 20 minutes ago witnessed one of the more impressive bursts of snow here in Dekalb. Some half dollar sized flakes were falling in the heaviest band here that just moved off to the east.
Flake sized went down as of now, rates still impressive with ~half mile visibilities. Cars covered and grassy areas quickly started going white while it melted on sidewalks and roads
