Possible 3/20-3/21 Coastal Storm

Zelocita Weather

Recommended Posts

Mt. Holly had a nice historical summary about this for PHL this morning actually. This may be only the 7th time in history to get measurable snow after hitting 80.

Thanks for those dates. The storm to beat looks like the 3/24/90 snow.

Atlantic City picked up 3.8 inches after reaching 85 earlier in the month.

That was another wacky winter with one of the coldest Decembers on record followed

near record warmth in January and February.

Experimental HRRR 24, precip is about wrapped up by this point, 5am Monday

I know it's only an experimental model, but that is pretty much the map that I would have made when I made my call last night (if I could make nice colorful maps lol).....EWR 2.5", LGA 3", ISP 5.5"

UCS enjoy,,and safe driving !

Sure would be fitting ,after the non winter we had for the models ( which have been all over the place anyways ) to completely blow this and have this thing trend west big time today ! A boy can dream can't I ?

Still daydreaming about the 12 plus inch totals that were out there just a few short days ago,,,lol

Islip only began keeping proper snow records from 2007 forward; the period that preceded that date constituted an abomination from an accuracy perspective.

For example; the December 2003 blizzard was recorded as a "Trace".

LGA and ISP receive the same accumulated snow on the plumes. As does coastal NJ.

Reason is that LI and coastal NJ are 1-2 degrees warmer.

Per NWS, my area gets down to 29 overnight. As such, i dont think the BL will be an issue
