...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM CDT FOR  

NORTHEASTERN SANGAMON AND SOUTHEASTERN MENARD COUNTIES...  

 

AT 751 PM CDT...A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED 6 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF  

DOWNTOWN SPRINGFIELD...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH.  

 

HAZARD...DAMAGING TORNADO AND HALF DOLLAR SIZE HAIL.  

 

SOURCE...WEATHER SPOTTERS CONFIRMED TORNADO. A TORNADO WAS REPORTED NEAR  

LOAMI AT 747 PM.  

 

IMPACT...FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE CAUGHT WITHOUT  

SHELTER. MOBILE HOMES WILL BE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. DAMAGE  

TO ROOFS...WINDOWS AND VEHICLES WILL OCCUR. TREE DAMAGE IS  

LIKELY.  

 

THIS TORNADO WILL BE NEAR...  

SPRINGFIELD AROUND 755 PM CDT.  

SHERMAN AROUND 800 PM CDT.  

RIVERTON AND WILLIAMSVILLE AROUND 805 PM CDT.  

 

OTHER LOCATIONS IMPACTED BY THIS TORNADIC THUNDERSTORM INCLUDE LELAND

yep....fire depaetment reported 2 tornadoes on the ground just south of me..also reports that oak hill got hit west of here

Was there a lot of CG lightning? Seems like tornadic supercells are prolific CG producers a lot of the time. Glad to hear you're ok though.

The old apartment would've had a great view of that developing Le Claire cell. I faced west, and probably would've been looking right down the gut of the inflow.

 

That TDS was on the ground for quite a few volume scans, nearly doing damage for about 10 miles anyway.
