Hoosier
Really hope LOT does a case study or something of this event. This plume is just gorgeous.
tuanis
SOOO CLOSE BUT SO FAR We have snowflakes now... the good stuff is probably about a mile and a half away. I don't see that band shifting west back towards Milwaukee. If anything, it looks to be adjusting (as it has been for several hours) into a more north-south orientation as the storm continues to lift up the east coast. As that happens, it'll eventually get closer to the WI coast.

KokomoWX
alittle OT but for those who haven't seen this...Boston is under a blizzard warning for 15"-20"....2"-4"/hr... michsnowfreak
Guess shouldve left SE MI out of the thread title after all. lol we do better with LES at least 5-10 times a year from good ol' Lake Michigan. Had a filmy snow (small flakes mixed with freezing drizzle of all thing) drop a total of 0.2" here overnight and early this morning. That's all she wrote for this lake effect event. Model qpf was overdone, when for LES it usually almost always underdone. The one positive is that the 2-week old snowpack still looks pretty fresh. Hoosier
Looks like some low end warning criteria amounts happened in far northern Cook county. Wonder what the final totals are in Lake county...haven't seen any recent report out of there.

tuanis
Plume sinking into Chicago now though in a much weakened state. Still coming down at a good clip, however. Here on the north side of the city (4000 N), the plume dropped about 3 or so inches last night and about another half inch in the past 30 minutes.
