Ottawa Blizzard
GIANT flakes oh my god. NOW we're talking. Plates and pixie dust has left the building. What area of the city are you in?
snowcaine
What area of the city are you in? Just south of Yorkdale mall
Jonger
Still decent even in bad radar returns. Might score another inch. About to get hit with a decent wraparound weenie band.
Ottawa Blizzard
Looks like some heavy returns are moving into the GTA. Best part of the storm coming up it would seem.
harrisale
Yep easily loonie size flakes for about 20 minutes. Back a bit smaller now but still much lower visibility than an hour ago.
snowcaine
About to get hit with a decent wraparound weenie band. Nice to see some development on the back edge
michsnowfreak
Can totally empathize. The 696/275 interchange was horrendous. Ive driven in much bigger snowstorms obviously but this was one of the scariest commutes. Its the "perfect storm" of a sheet of ice followed by blinding snow hitting right at evening rush hour. snowstormcanuck
Man dry air continues to erode the progression of the precip. into the eastern suburbs. Someone from Oshawa tweeted they've seen 1cm. I believe it.
Ottawa Blizzard
Judging by radar returns, the Peterborough and Clarington regions east of Toronto are in a screw zone. Big dry slot.
LansingWeather
9.25" here so far, hopefully we can get that last .75"!
snowstormcanuck
I wish more people would use twitter to report amounts. Seeing a few tweets in the 4-5" range now. btw...I estimate about 2.5" here in London.
Ottawa Blizzard
Dendrites falling outside. I can hear snowblowers going, a sure sign that a lot of snow has fallen.

Ottawa Blizzard
3.9" with SN+ Slight chance we make 8". Thinking 6" might have been the better bet. It depends how long the snow lasts.
stormtrackertf
Looks like we're not done yet after all. One last weenie band rolling in to the metro area.

snowstormcanuck
Slight chance we make 8". Thinking 6" might have been the better bet. It depends how long the snow lasts. Back edge of the WCB snow is approaching but we should get a couple of hours of defo zone snow. This system is moving a bit faster than I expected though. Anything north of 8" is probably out of the question.
snowcaine
Texted my dad. He's estimating that too. Central Etobicoke. I'm noticing Mississauga tweets with 5" and Markham tweets with 3"... definitely an east-west gradient due to that dry air.
snowcaine
Winds have been pretty light here. I barely have any drifting in my neighbourhood. I feel like a Snowfall warning would have sufficed?
Ottawa Blizzard
Unless I'm reading the radar wrong, Ottawa seems to be underperforming, which would be unusual for them.
Torontonian
Am I measuring wrong? Got 5.0".... Have about 5" as well by Queen's Park. Was stormy 2 hours ago. Wind died temporarily. City is unusually quiet here. Nice change from looking at weather models and hoping.
