Cfa
Storms woke me up in the middle of the night, I wasn't expecting anything out here so I went to sleep. Didn't hear any thunder, but the rain and winds were super loud.

IsentropicLift
That was 12-18 hours of pure heaven for me. The local rivers here are swollen but it looks like they are cresting at minor flood stage without any major problems which is good. Hope we can do it all over again the middle of next week. tdp146
The sound of the low level jet overhead when that bowing segment Rjay posted came on shore was wild. Just a constant roar. Haven't heard that since October 2012.
IsentropicLift
What's scary is that system was relatively weaker by the time it made it up here. Things seemed to peak while it was in NE VA and SE PA.

I'm not exactly sure why they sent the little coast guard boat out in that weather. Probably the closest one

LongBeachSurfFreak
Haven't had a chance to head down to the beach year but my dad said sand was drifted across ocean parkway. The last time I saw that was during a November cutter in the 90s that had 70mph south winds and they were using snow plows to get the sand off the road

The area in between is like no-mans land.Thy never really built the dunes back up in that area after Sandy.

It's just massive. its got to be the largest peice of undeveloped land in Nassau county

Will try again. Because of all of the hills and open farmland, you can clearly see the path of distruction. I couldn't believe how quick they started to rebuild as well. The next day they already had a new roof on one of the houses.
