Cracked 10" here with snow continuing. Couple huge gusts in the last 10 mins.

Nice.

We got about 7 inches probably.

Just an eyeball... I just got done snowblowing enough to get the cars out of the street, I'll pay some dude in the sub to polish it off tomorrow.

I love getting unknown precipitation (perhaps sleet) in Northwest Ohio! Toledo down to west central Ohio is now getting the changeover to snow.

I won't drive on 65! lol.  Lord that must be a mess.  Got a solid 2 inches (woo hoo) so far but still having thermal issues.  Been back and forth fine SN to +SN, occasional chutes sometimes.  Seems it's melting about half as fast as its falling.  Gonna be piecemeal for the next 18 hours I guess.  Hopefully this is the kind of storm that'll a give a weather nerd a reach around  :weenie:

I was hoping we could overachieve but the GFS nailed this one. Chalk up another win for the US of A.

This post shows how it's all about location. If you were near the western fringes, you wouldn't say the western models did better. If you're farther east, you might think the eastern models didn't do so well.

I think each model had its issues in different ways. Canuck may have summed it up best when he said that neither the western nor eastern solutions were perfect.

IWX pretty much described this system perfectly........

THIS CERTAINLY HAS BEEN AN INTERESTING EVENT TO WATCH UNFOLD. HIGH
DGZ...STRONG WINDS AND SATURATED COLUMN BELOW DGZ LED TO AN
INTERESTING PATTERN TODAY WITH PCPN TYPES AND ACCUMULATIONS.
OBSERVATIONS AT KIWX SAW SNOWFLAKE SIZE AND PRECIPITATION INTENSITY
CHANGE DRAMATICALLY IN JUST A MATTER OF MINUTES. BANDS OF STRONGER
SNOW AND DEEPER LIFT PRODUCED LARGE SNOWFLAKES WHILE INTERMITTENT
PERIODS BETWEEN HEAVIER BANDS SAW SNOWFLAKE SIZE DWINDLE TO VERY
FINE FLAKES AND EVEN SNOW PELLETS AND SLEET AT TIMES WITH SOME
MELTING AND REFREEZING. TO OUR SOUTHEAST...WARM LAYER CHANGED PCPN
OVER TO RAIN BEFORE DRY SLOT ENDED PCPN ENTIRELY. WHILE MUCH OF
NORTHWEST AREA HAS SEEN THE HEAVY SNOWFALL TODAY...REPORTS FROM KSBN
AND METRO AREA HAVE BEEN ON THE LIGHT SIDE WITH JUST A COUPLE INCHES
REPORTED THROUGH MID AFTERNOON. WITH SFC TEMPS ABOVE FREEZING AND
URBAN SETTING THERE MAY HAVE BEEN FASTER COMPACTION AND MELTING
PROCESSES WITH SNOW ON GROUND COMPARED TO MORE RURAL AREAS.

Congrats to those that got clobbered. Sounds like Hoosier has seen the most so far...

Models busted on temps late this afternoon and currently. Would have had the grass covered at least if it would have been a couple degrees colder. On to the next system~
