Baum
I've got wind whipped flurries. Not a complete shut out. Ironically, how I saw this baby playing out for me all along.

blue60007
Lafayette now reporting heavy snow with visibility at 1/4 of a mile and winds gusting to 40 mph. Yep. getting pretty gnarly here. I'm surprised IND has not extended the blizzard warning yet, don't think we'll have much trouble reaching criteria throughout the afternoon. For whatever reason, none of the local schools canceled today. They are letting off early, not sure why they even bother. Conditions are terrible out there. Geos
Snow moving in. About 20 miles away. Ceilings have dropped off quite a bit since 10am. Is it ripping in Chicago now? Camera near downtown. Definitely snowing.
tuanis
Is it ripping in Chicago now? Visibility looks pretty low per the Wrigley cam. Big exterior renovations underway. Looks like no stickage yet. Light wind-whipped stuff here in Rosemont.
harrisale
Getting moderate freezing rain right now, about 2-3mm accretion maybe. Some ice pellets are also frozen to trees. 11:00 surface temperature was -1.3C so going to get some decent accretion before we warm up to above freezing. Winds are starting to rip now too. From Chris Scott, The Weather Network Chris Scott ✔@ChrisScottWx Freezing rain/ice accretion this aft may be more significant than originally thought for higher terrain N/W of Toronto#onstorm 10:44 AM - 24 Feb 2016
SchaumburgStormer
Rocking heavy overcast. Was hoping for a couple mood flakes, but trends don't support that, and the NW burbs are in trouble for those hoping for accumulations. Been fun to watch Illinois/Michigan reel this in, as it looked like a sure Ohio storm. (Sorry Ohio guys)

Hoosier
Mentioned it the other day but could be one of the sicker gradients between ORD and northwest IN totals in a while.

Jonger
This storm is a perfect example of what separates the Midwest from the east coast. They have real deep, uninterrupted precip coverage, while we have a raggedy, broken precip shield.

dmc76
Real raggedy looking radar in SE Michigan. All chopped up. No consistency. Hoosier
Based on obs/radar, the NAM's northwestern cutoff of the precip shield is going to be too far east around Chicagoland, so better to lean more toward the other models or blend with NAM.
