btcs31
Extreme NW Indiana checking in. Snow finally starting. Really fine stuff blowing sideways. 35F so not much sticking, but looks like a nice band moving in from the SE.
Jackstraw
12Z HRRR looking good for KOKK. 9z SREF mean just shy of 10 inches. Could this be a sleeper event for here??? I am so close to the edge, if these model trends continue I might only have to drive 5 miles to get from 3 into 6 or 8 inches lol
Chicago WX
Rip city here right now. Big flakes too. Winds having no effect on flake size.
harrisale
I gotta think there's a warm layer aloft that'll bulb down and let you switch back to snow for awhile. Although, if it's still a mixed bag after an hour of precip, maybe not. Now switched to heavy IP and some occasional snow flakes mixed in. Pellets are huge, like they're trying their best to become flakes haha. Maybe can make a run at brief heavy snow if rates can pick up a little more. Actually received a solid coating of pellets, too bad we weren't a touch colder.
snowstormcanuck
Hopefully that lull over lake Ontario starts to fill in a bit. You've got snow ravaged thermals now you don't want to give the column a chance to recover.
UMB WX
Yikes.. How's Evansville benchmark working out.. This one could make up some for the ghd sleet storm in Indiana. Does Detroit beat Chicago now lol. Silence from Chicago posters is probably unfortunate of the am developments.. O well good luck down there and to the rest in the storm as well
harrisale
Current p-type map. Some of that ZR locally is IP but you can see the changeover line to RA is well-defined.
Chargers09
Yikes.. How's Evansville benchmark working out.. This one could make up some for the ghd sleet storm in Indiana. Chambana
Ripping fatties right now with gusts to 45mph, accumulating quickly on grassy surfaces, but melting on contact on the roads. Visibility is pretty poor right now. Sitting at 32.3 degrees.
snowstormcanuck
Noticed the 987 contour in W KY contracted at 14z. Looks like the low is no longer deepening.

Michigander
Noticed the 987 contour in W KY contracted at 14z. Looks like the low is no longer deepening. True and the RAP shows it continuing to weaken over the next several hours.
weathergy
Doubtful, but there's a punter's chance.I'd say if things are going to overachieve here, things are going right for that.Laying down a few inches this morning you would think aid in keeping WAA in check. Does Detroit beat Chicago now lol. Silence from Chicago posters is probably unfortunate of the am developments.. O well good luck down there and to the rest in the storm as well Really nothing to discuss. Watch and enjoy the radar and see how it plays out. Hope was it would trend further north and west into our western burbs. It appears that is not the case. My forecast was always 1-5 inches with the knowledge any shift and I could be shut out. Been a fun track though.
NoDoppler4TnySandz
Yes, pics please....want to see some fat flakes. I'd send you the pics of the mud puddles around here in SW Ohio but I don't think anyone is interested in that.
