The NW part looks kind of ragged...so I'd like to see a bit more northward push over the next hour or two and have that fill in a little. RAP does show this, but it could be too bullish too.

pretty much done here, not much a little coating on the grass and mulch.   Ridiculous early dismissals here for that.

Just a comment from a person in the know... The early dismissal calls are now made during the predawn hours due to pressures from parents wanting to know schedules before heading out to work; gone are the good old days or assessing the short-term trends into the late morning hours before making a decision; with multiple short-term meso-model runs showing the potential for a hvy snow burst erupting across Fairfield Cty during the 3 PM to 5 PM period guarantees could not be given that in fact a very disruptive travel situation would not be in develop during the last of the bus runs late in the day!  That is what gets assessed; not so much what will be happening at 2 or 3 PM, but at 3:30 to 4:30 pm when that last runs are being made!  The question that gets asked is "Can you tell us with certainty that our 3:30 to 4:30 pm bus runs will not get caught in a heavy snow period?"   The answer at 5 AM was no; although road temps were not expected to be anywhere near as cold as last week, the worry about the meso-model snow burst being correct had to be discussed.  In the end, snowfall rates were not nearly great enough to overwhelm the melting process and full days would have worked out for most Fairfield Cty locations... But the discussions and decisions that go on at 4 or 5 AM are very detailed & intense with confidence level always a part of the mix. Every situation is different; some easy; some hard; but all of them interesting.
