Is there any fracking in that part of NJ? The quakes seem to be of a general magnitude (though somewhat weaker) associated with fracking in such states as Oklahoma.

We can remove fracking as a reason. I believe fracking is illegal in NJ. The only part of the state with possible deposits of shale oil/gas would be in the far NW of the state in the Ridge-and-Valley geological province.
