BxWeatherwatcher
well 1 of the crappiest models which is the cras, gives us a shot of heavy snow in the city. although it looks like some mixing/rain is involved right at the coast with the low hugging the coastline which i don't buy a.t.m. As bad as this model is, we can't discount the possibility of this coming closer then modeled... http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/cras/cras45_NA/00/index_snow_m_loop.html

BxWeatherwatcher
6z g.f.s is also north and west and very close to a great hit for us,another 25-50 mile shift and we are in it big time!!!..so the crappy cras model was def the first to see something different as i said before in my earlier posts.go figure!..very positive trends this morning outside the nam. Morris
The was a huge favorable shift on the 6z GFS. A smaller shift needed now for a big hit.

PB GFI
The 6z Ensembles are a S and E of the OP above . But only by about 50 miles for NYC/CNJ/LI to see a warning event .

PB GFI
Gfs is an outlier. Sent from my LG-V410 using Tapatalk Looks like the HI RES NAM Which deepens this 8 mb in 6 hours . Will know by 12z if it`s on to something or just a head fake .

Im on board with the significant deepening slp....have been all along. Just not sure 1) it will come north or 2) the deep low helps us because it tightens the precip shield. As u said, we will have answers soon enough.

Ralph Wiggum
The CRAS 'finally' caved....big hit DC-BOS but absolutely buries NYC and LI with 30+ hours of moderate to heavy snow. Would be 1-2' totals. I know its a crap model verbatim but a red flag was raised when it hardly even showed a slp the past few days. Now it is an absolute bomb. That's the CRAS I've come to know.
