Counting our blessings --- tons of potential with these storms today for many locations. I'm really surprised none of them brought along any of the strong winds around here that they had talked about, but obviously that has been an issue in many other areas.

Along with the others, I'd  like to thank all those posters outside the Southeast Forum family for all your contributions and insight these past few days.

So far the Oxford NC is the only one that I have seen pics for that confirm tornado, but I am sure that St Paul to Stedman couplet was producing then and again near Newton Grove.....

So....come to find out these are friends of the family in Oxford. As well, the farm that was damaged sits next door to my Aunts family cabin dating back to the 1700's. It lost a chimney, a barn structure and a few trees around the house. Small world! Close call for many.

Winds sustained 25 gusting into the low 40's, house creaking and groaning and the constant roar outside ( I live close to a large stand of mature pines) is crazy, very much reminds my of how it sounds during tropical events with the steady rumble.....and it doesnt look to let up till tomorrow afternoon....good thing we are not leafed out.

Will be interesting to see how many confirmed tornados we end up with to go with all those warnings.....I think there were at least 3-4 legit ones so far in NC and several in VA....overall we got lucky could have been a lot worse.

Was in Newton Grove earlier for the "wedge" tornado. Moving so fast I sacrificed the pic for a 59 second video. Despite chasing more than 20 hurricanes and 6 blizzards, I had never chased a tornado before. So, I'm fortunate I didn't get myself killed this evening! Going to finally head back home. Thoughts and prayers are with those who suffered losses, today!
