We're going to have at least partly sunny through the main heating time of the day....

CIK62
Next 8 days, including today are still a super +14. Month is already +4.3 so (4.3x9) +(8x14) = 39+112 = 151/17 = +8.9 for month by the 18th. Return to normal by around the 20th possible, but cold surge does not seem to penetrate too far into northeast and slips east. Thickness will be near 5600 for sometime into April, rather than the 5760 now.

Allsnow
Even the week 2 EPS back in late February missed the record warmth and ridging in the East this week. It doesn't really pay to look much past the day 6-10 EPS for average temperatures. 500za_week2_bg_na5.png Yeah it was a pretty bad bust for the eps to start March on the warm temps. Totally missed it at the end of February

IsentropicLift
JMA also had a big trough and then flipped to the monster ridge as we got closer. As I posted in the other thread, even the GFS which is most aggressive with knocking down the WAR brings another ULL into the PAC NW day ten which reloads the trough in the West and the ridge in the East. IsentropicLift
If you run through all 384hrs of the 12z GFS it's the same old pattern. A large swath of 3"+ of precip which runs from Louisiana up through the mid-west and into New England with embedded pockets of 6"+. This area remains on the edge of the "Ring of Fire" with 2-3" of rain.

JerseyWx
It's so weird how much it feels like Spring outside, could pass for May no doubt. Sun is going in and out of clouds and there's a warm breeze. Amazing weather.

The usually wet NAM is the driest of the bunch The NAM has not been its usual overly wet self lately. Based on the latest RAP which has my backyard close to 0.50" And the HRRR which isn't that much different.
Brian5671
LOL the HRRR is bone dry-almost nothing south of NYC and .10 to .25 for everyone else. enought to settle the dust...RAP is mostly .25 to .50...yawn.
