Runman292
It's mixing now. Big wet flakes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You're in Powell, right? My backyard of North Knox is cold moderate rain.
JayCee
From the look of the very high returns on the radar around Knox and surrounding counties, I wouldn't be surprised to see some big wet flakes mixing in. Especially, if you're up on a ridge. The rain isn't nearly that heavy, so it must be a mix of rain and snow causing the high reflectivity. Probably not all the snow is reaching the ground, though. PowellVolz
You're in Powell, right? My backyard of North Knox is cold moderate rain. I'm in Halls but it went right back to mostly rain with a few flakes in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

JayCee
Strange..but the radar pic I posted looks different on my phone. Doesnt even show the correct time and date stamp. Hmm. Weird Sent from my LGL22C using Tapatalk
John1122
Down to light snow here. Was pretty to look at and it changed over like MRX thought but it just went way too fast.
JCVol
That system was really flying..I doubt even the WSW areas will see much snow. Not a great week for the weather pros
PowellVolz
You know the circulation is still back just east of Nashville. Maybe it'll flair back up. You can see the back side dropping down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PowellVolz
For whatever reason it's like the wrap around just fell apart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

John1122
It was looking like it'd drop .3-.4 in this area, but it was closer to .15 instead. The 850 low was supposed to bring the moderate snow north of 40 most of the night. My forecast says occasional snow until 5 am. I don't know if anything will redevelop or if that was it. Jed33
Got some flakes trying to mix in now, but it's mostly rain. Temp is
JayCee
I just had a dark orange area on the radar move over me with pretty heavy rain, and there was defintely a mix involved (I could see globs of snow in the security light), but as soon as it lightened up it went back to rain. Kind of pointless now, since the system appears to be departing long before scheduled. Sent from my LGL22C using Tapatalk
Jed33
Seems like clippers don't ever really put on the brakes haha. They just clip on by. This one is no exception. It is moving pretty fast though even for a clipper. Have to be above 2k feet to do any good unless more fills in behind this.
John1122
Pretty much have about 1/4th inch new on cars. Probably not gonna do anything else.
Jed33
Probably about 50/50 mix of big fat flakes and rain now, but even if it were to switch, it's seems way too warm to ever amount to anything
Jed33
Ok, more flakes than rain for sure now. It's trying haha!
John1122
Some areas a little south of me around 1800 feet have around an inch. Even further south around 1300 theres 1/2 inch. Precip was heavier a little south of me. I've not been back up but I'd guess 1-2 above 2500 since it snowed for 2 hours longer there than here. Jed33
Just about all snow now very little rain, but no accum. Still nice to look at.
Silas Lang
Looks like there could be some possible "back end moisture" as it appears to swinging back down out of the north. Probably not much though besides some light flurries/snow/rain.
John1122
Campbell was removed from the WWA, now says .5 inches. I'm surprised they didn't remove everyone outside the mountains.
Jed33
MRX removed the southern and southwestern parts of the advisory, and acknowledged that the system is moving really swiftly to the east. Said they'd leave TRI in for now, as a few areas could get a quick accum. I am at 1,450ft here at the house, I would be curious as to what it was like on Crockett's Ridge at the top, in town. That is the highest point in Hamblen Co. Goes up to 1,952ft. So, that would be really close to 2k ft. They usually get more than me in nearly every case. In this case though, it could have been significant.

Jed33
I hit 34 when it was all snow, so I would imagine that's the magic number to get a complete or almost complete changeover in this case. Too bad it didn't last but about 15min once it switched. Just a slushy picnic table and just a little on the grass is all I had to show for it.
