Geos
Not the warmest of extended forecasts I've seen for April, but it'll do nicely. Surely nicer than the last 11 days.

Between the 26-28th I won't be able to chase. Count on it coming to fruition lol.

cyclone77
Around the 27th is always bank. Yep. When the date range of 26-28th (audit/re-accreditation) came out last month I got a little nervous. Oh well, there's always May and June lol.
andyhb
Around the 27th is always bank. 25th anniversary of 4/26/91 and 5th anniversary of 4/27/11, take it to the bank.
Quincy
25th anniversary of 4/26/91 and 5th anniversary of 4/27/11, take it to the bank. Climo loves the last 7-10 days of April for a significant uptick in tornado activity in most years.

Stebo
Interesting graph Quincy. It looks like another mini spike around the third week of May. Yeah that usually coincides with Oklahoma/Kansas area lighting up. It has almost every year since 2008 around that part of May.

hawkeye_wx
Yeah, recent GFS runs would have us near 90 degrees the last week of April. I want warmth, but I'd prefer that kind of heat wait until summer.

Torchageddon
12Z GFS has a fantasy range tornado outbreak on the 26th. Something to watch. Its about time. get ready to torch image The first 12 days of April were from winter hell, this can't come soon enough. I wish it was in the mid 80s all month IMBY, I would be more than accepting of 90s by the end of this month. My shorts are waiting. With 4/27 being a prime day for tornadoes, I remembered today being the 4th anniversary of the legendary Plains outbreak where Kansas had a record number of tornadoes in 1 day. Massive High Risk, perfect day for storm chasers, extremely fun.
Geos
12z cooled off quite a bit towards 240 hours. Couple really warm days still appear, but nothing hot. 70s seem hot to me right now.

Quincy
GFS ensembles pretty keen on warmth around that time. Not a lot of value in using operational runs that far out.
wisconsinwx
The potential heat late in the month will be the type of scenario (at least on relatively low wind days) when Geos and I may be thankful for the lake. I'll take 50s and 60s over 80s most days.

Day 10-15 EPS is a favorable pattern - with details to obviously iron out. Supported by most other guidance, more or less, in the time-frame. Let's see if it holds. Geos
You wouldnt buy a torch unless it was 5 miles from your doorstep It's very hard to do here in April. 80s in April is too early imo. Save it for late May.
