1994 ice storms I had ZR with temps in the teens never had anything like that since

took my Christmas tree down in January, put it in the back yard, and there it stayed until mid March....frozen solid to the ground.

Little snow but worst winters ever for ice...

Moderate zr here. Street looks like an ice rink by the sheen coming off of it. Sitting at 29 degrees currently which is up 1 degree from the past 3 hours. Definitely more ice than I expected to have around here. The LV and Pocs are gonna be in trouble overnight if the low level cold holds up.

I don't think there is any basis. Much like it doesn't matter how warm the ground is if you get good rates for snow. Once it rains steady above freezing it melts regardless how cold the ground was leading up to the event.

I'm more concerned about morning rush here. If it's 35 degrees during the rush and dry (models suggest it's dry) then we will still see plenty of ice down especially on the backroads
