mappy
We should get into a good band during the afternoon and there should a long enough period to hold off warming above to get to 3 inches maybe 4. Anything in the morning looks spotty at best but you never know because sometimes a decent band cold develop where it's not modeled to. NAM is pretty cold for us at the surface until 2-3 in the morning so if that happens we could get a pretty good glaze on top of everything. Thanks! I was gonna make the decision in the morning, worst case I work half a day, let the kiddo burn some energy at daycare for a bit then come home. Ian
HRRR and RAP picked up on this band well. Frontogenesis parameters lit up on SPC mesoanalysis. Interestingly, they're both pretty dry after it goes for a few hours. If they are right it's not really 'extra' snow just distributed differently than expected. Jebman
It does help to look outside once in a while. Granted, reading the enlightening posts here is better than watching real snow pour out of the skies, but I am wearing one hell of a path from my computer to the back porch where I have a light on outside. I WON'T miss the onset.
