dukeblue219
Big blob headed north Looks like it's got Rockville dead ahead. Probably just skirting DC on the NW side of town as it moves NE. I'll be curious to see what comes out of that blob if I can catch the edge.
mappy
I'm thinking it's a bad measurement... it makes no sense to me. Even measuring old and new I still don't have 4". Bad measurement for sure.

PrinceFrederickWx
Winter Storm warning cancelled for DC, Arlington, Alexandria, and Southern MD. Downgraded to winter weather advisory for .1" of ice. Not sure if I agree with that. I will say IMBY the ice part of this has been basically nothing so far (which is fine with me). MacintoshPro
Their adjustment was obviously just another guess. "Uh-oh, 2.6" seems too low, 3", yeah that sounds fine".
nw baltimore wx
Funny you say that, just saw that report myself, and a 3.5" in northern Hartford which is nearby. I do not have 4" of new snow. 1.5" is a stretch. Not sure how someone managed 4" up here... I'm thinking it's a bad measurement... it makes no sense to me. There's a 3" near me that's high too. Warm Nose
IAD measurement seems low. Not really. Consistent with the spotter reports around the immediate area. I am further west and only got 2".
HighStakes
There's a 3" near me that's high too. We got somewhere between 1.5-2.0. The spotter 1 mile away had 1.1 at 3 p.m. I think we had close to an inch between then and 5 p.m. when the mix took over.

mattb65
Temp stuck at 28 with dew point still around 26 and very very gradually creeping up. Pretty significant glaze out there. If we stay below freezing all the way until ~3am like the short range models show, it'll make for some pretty impressive ice accumulations... Don't think it'll be to the point where it'll cause tree or power problems. I anticipate a big challenge getting into my car in the morning, already glazed pretty solidly shut. Bob Chill
The heavier shower that moved through left a layer of water on top of everything. Still at 28 so should freeze during the next lull. Ian
you just gotta believe! We don't do ice that well in general so any ice is a big deal. If ground wasn't so cold this is barely an ice event so far. Accretion on trees here is tiny. Showery nature is keeping it from being a bigger deal so far too.
