clueless
Brief heavy zr/sleet a while ago. Now a lull.
Kay
1.8" snow total. Not much precip here since the flip. Just freezing mist - super light but effective, glazing up here. 27F
MacintoshPro
Pretty icy out there. Even some side roads are getting slippery as the sun goes down. I'm not in the pop-up ZR blobs on radar, yet light freezing drizzle is still coming down. 26.
vance1167
Tip: if you expect freezing rain, don't shovel the snow from your sidewalk. Commonsense overload.
ers-wxman1
27F, ZR with some sleet mixed in. Coating of ice on most surfaces.
MacintoshPro
Commonsense overload. There's four types of sidewalks: 1. Not shoveled, and crunchy and easy to walk on. 2. Shoveled a bit but still a dusting to an inch of snow, a bit icy but still relatively safe 3. Shoveled to the bare ground with salt, completely safe and not icy whatsoever 4. Shoveled to the bare ground with no salt, cue Michelle Kwan
poolz1
Light to mod sleet with a few flakes here and there. Temp has risen .3 in the past three hours. Nasty night to be on the roads...
WVclimo
1.3" from that last burst in 75 minutes. Saved the storm. 2.2" now. Moderate sleet. Heavy snow knocked the temp back from 25.2 to 23.5.

PhineasC
Still not that into the ice threat at least big wise. I think HRRR is overdone, plus it's running a bit cold at this point. Has colder temps at 10p in some spots compared to what we see now. People's leyland cypresses may droop a bit and they'll call it an ice storm, but the roads and parking lots will remain clear. Big ice storms around here happen when it is cold and gets colder as the precip falls. Temps are rising; this is not a big ice setup.

Don't recall anyone calling for a big ice storm, but I wouldn't pooh-pooh the fact that even a thin glaze can make things quite treacherous for awhile before it warms above freezing. I just went outside, there's very light drizzle and there are some pretty slick areas just with that. Even cleared areas. Edges of sidewalks that have little or no salt. Ground is quite cold still. mattie g
The other tip: If it's all turning to rain overnight and into the morning, it's all going to melt away anyway, so why bother doing anything? Personally? I'm not f***ing lazy, and some folks may want to walk down my sidewalk. Not easy to do with 5" of snow on it.

87storms
if you're gonna ice up then light/spotty rain with temps below 30 is the way to do it. of course, busy main roads won't ice up as easily, but roads that weren't treated as well, parking lots, driveways, etc. might get a coating from this one before midnight. cartops and sidewalks certainly glazing up already. yuki neko
Neighborhood roads already icing up. Those that have copious amounts of salt are in better condition but there are streets that were plowed but I guess not salted- skating rink. Surprisingly, temperature/dewpoint are slowly dropping. 28.6/
clskinsfan
Its just nasty here. My torrential sleet storm has turned back to ZR. Everything is a solid sheet of ice.
fourseasons
Oh boo effing hoo!! People shouldn't be out walking around now anyway. Its not being lazy it's being smart. I have a driveway that rejects rapid melting because of its position sun-wise. Got about 4 inches here plus 2 rounds from the plow. I shoveled and laid ice melt. I'll go out again to check on things if I have to.

Ian
Weak low on mesoanalysis near mouth of bay. It'll get overpowered eventually but prob helping keep winds from turning to south so far. HRRR does rapidly warm b/w 2-7a.
MillvilleWx
Still snow here NW Hagerstown, but sleet and ZR mixing in as well. The band from earlier finally put us over 1" out here (Total 1.6" so far).
