Ian
The thing that's catching my eye, though, is that Raleigh is still 30 and Richmond at 29. That's on the cold side of guidance. I mean, yes it's possible for DCA and low spots in that corridor could spike and hit 33 while RDU remains below freezing. It might be right. Just often when you rise toward 30 zr will get you to 32 or 33. But still no real warm push showing up around here yet.

MacintoshPro
Hmm, liquid and not freezing. We need rates. I'm sure its freezing. Feel some tree branches. there will be a light glaze on them.
Joshfsu123
Freezing drizzle has begun... temp still at 27... car already has a nice layer of ice forming on it and sidewalks that have been cleared are getting a nice glaze.

smokeybandit
How are the roads? As long as you're comfortable driving on roads with some slushy spots, they're fine. At least in the Baltimore area.

It's kind of odd to me, but I tested my infrared thermometer and unanimously measured surfaces in the teens, so we do have that going for us. haudidoody
Consistent 3.7" just before the rain started in north Old Town. (all measured on concrete / brick / pavement) I was reading 30 F.
Deck Pic
Yes. I'm commenting more on that we've seen DCA go above before places to its east and south. I think immediate DC metro has quite a while (6 hours +) before going above freezing even if DCA goes to 33. Could be wrong of course.

Light freezing drizzle on top of 10" of snow.Disc, on wunderground, which temp for our area is most accurate in your opinion? They range from 22-28. I'm trying to watch it closely later on. WVsnowlover
The batch to the north of Culpeper looks nice. Trying to will it north instead of the NE trajectory it's been on. Hoping to get to 2" before the changeover.

hosj III
28/25 with freezing drizzle. 3.25" of snow. I'll have snow liquid content shortly. RAP/HRRR/NAM all seem to suggest we stay below freezing through 6z. Whether or not we see real ice accretion is gonna depend on how steady the precip is from now until then. Could be wrong of course. Some mixed messages. Hearing not going above freezing until midnight on the Euro and hearing it might not be much longer once the moderate rain moved in and warms the surface.......... either this is a major ice storm starting or the melting process has begun as the temp warms to match the rain.
