The thing that's catching my eye, though, is that Raleigh is still 30 and Richmond at 29. That's on the cold side of guidance. 

 

I mean, yes it's possible for DCA and low spots in that corridor could spike and hit 33 while RDU remains below freezing. 

It might be right. Just often when you rise toward 30 zr will get you to 32 or 33. But still no real warm push showing up around here yet.

I'm sure its freezing. Feel some tree branches. there will be a light glaze on them.

It's kind of odd to me, but I tested my infrared thermometer and unanimously measured surfaces in the teens, so we do have that going for us.

I think immediate DC metro has quite a while (6 hours +) before going above freezing even if DCA goes to 33.  Could be wrong of course.

 

Some mixed messages.

 

Hearing not going above freezing until midnight on the Euro and hearing it might not be much longer once the moderate rain moved in and warms the surface.......... either this is a major ice storm starting or the melting process has begun as the temp warms to match the rain.
