WxUSAF
My lull about 60-90 mins. Seems to be trying to snow again. Whatever else happens, I'm good for this event. What's your total? I measured 1" at 8am when I shoveled and just measured ~1.6" on the cleared driveway. So, 2.6" total.

RichmondTarHeel
There is nothing at all interesting about that... ers-wxman1
HRRR looks nasty for tonight.. Quite a bit of ZR. Pretty decent icing where we are.
WxUSAF
DCA reports 1.1" and a trained spotter 1mi west of DCA has 4". What a joke. Edit...corrected to 2.6". Still off.

hazwoper
I must not understand what I'm seeing then, but to my untrained eyes it looks like the L off the coast is strengthening That map simply shows pressure change. Obviously you will have a larger pressure fall in an area that previously had higher pressure. There will be no redeveloping low off the coast. the low to the west is strengthening (also shown on that map) and the southerly flow of moisture in the Carolinas will torch everyone.. WVsnowlover
Interesting. Traffic cams show it dumping snow in Harrisonburg right now. I will keep an eye on that cam and see how fast they flip.I don't see any snow falling on the Harrisonburg sky cam right now?
peribonca
Snizzle in NW. Think that band coming up from Charlottesville will at least start as snow. I actually love sleet, it's my favorite precip type so I can't wait for later

Wonderdog
3.5 inches on my unprotected part of my deck table. Looks as if any other useful snow is over. Blow those warm southerly breezes in. Don't need no ice.
needbiggerboat
DCA will never get it right really think the energy on that topic should be about moving the official location. maybe to the White House or somewhere that's always staffed and has people that can be trained to measure. Dca seems like a bad location, and the measuring question just seem to persist
ThePhotoGuy
HRRR Showed more ice last run. I wonder if NWS will expand Winter Storm Warning/Ice Storm more east towards Howard/Carroll, Baltimore County. Potential is there.
nj2va
DCA 2.6" at 1pm...lol...It's actually borderline negligent that LWX doesn't do something about this. There is absolutely no way that's accurate. I measured 4" and a trained spotter a mile from DCA measured the same as of me. I'm 3 miles to the SW of DCA. clskinsfan
I don't see any snow falling on the Harrisonburg sky cam right now? Ha. Well that didnt take long. I was watching MM255 cam and it was snowing hard for about 40 minutes. Now you cant see snow so I am gonna assume its rain or sleet.
