mattb65
The virga lasted a whole 10 seconds. There's been virga overhead for the last 2-3 hours. Flurries flying here.
Jebman
I have not been watching a lot of modeling the past couple of rays, but that frontogen band to the south of Prince William looks to consolidate there. I am getting clipped by the northern edge though. Steady snow, coating, 19/

MacintoshPro
There's been virga overhead for the last 2-3 hours. Flurries flying here. Not on base reflectivity. 5-10 dbz returns correlated to flurries here.

MacintoshPro
Just picked up quite a bit. I'm under not super impressive returns, but it looks like its really coming down hard. Might be the wind playing tricks or something. I'll try to post a video.

mitchnick
In some ways this is kind of two systems.. know we're anticipating break but the main wave for the low that turns to rain is not what's causing the snow now. Yep. Saw this coming on Thursday. http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/47849-pd3attempt13since2003-tracking-the-threat-of-the-presidents-day-storm-feb-15-16-2016/?p=3978990

Jebman
Car top, tops of fence and bushes where dead leaves collected and the driveway and sidewalks all turning white. Steady snow. Flakes getting bigger and falling steadily. The reason that the road is not caving is that the VDOT put down those damned abrasives! I dont need traction. I can jebwalk in ANY road conditions. Eskimo Joe
Just picked up quite a bit. Looks like it needs about 20-30 min for any low level dry air to get saturated.

WEATHER53
That high is very tough and not only is it not off coast of Maine and rapidly moving away, it's over western Maine and still pressing down. Gotta get those darker echos further north but bit of a non warm fly in the ointment right now

Ian
Looks like it needs about 20-30 min for any low level dry air to get saturated. Basically as soon as we got to about 20dbz (or any real color on Radarscope) it picked up enough to stick. Before that it was --sn of tiny flakes. Swiscaster
Nice band developed over Burke and Centreville. It's nothing special at the moment here, but it is a little heavier than earlier. Roads are still black, due to all the salt dumped on them this week.
Bob Chill
I saw a report pop up in harrisonburg with 2". Seems kinda high for the amount of time it's been snowing. Or its really high ratio stuff.
Disc
Nice band now -- Heaviest snow all night. Dark greens and yellows stretch all the way into Kentucky and are headed east, directly towards this area. Hanging at 14.7 degrees.

Gotta get those darker echos further north but bit of a non warm fly in the ointment right now The high is actually west of that per SPC mesoanalysis. Stretched from about eastern NY down the coast to this area. But, it's basically exactly where forecast. Just not much indication it would be precipitating this early from the globals at the least.
