superjames1992
We're under the same cell. It stretches from northern Davidson county all the way to High Point. A number of gold-colored radar returns embedded in it. Yeah, I see that on radar. Looks like a summertime popcorn thunderstorm cell or something. Pretty crazy. It's pouring rain now. I'd assume it's plain RN at this point unless we've dropped a degree since midnight. KGSO's 1 AM obs should be out anytime (I don't have my own weather station, but I only live 4 miles from the airport, so I usually just use that). EDIT: Yep, up to 33/33 now. qwertyu
This is crazy, it almost seems like a tropical storm! It rains hard, and thunders & lightning, for a few min. then quits for a few, and does it again! All the while teetering on freezing! WOW!! southernskimmer
At 32 in jamestown still. Thunder pingers and craziness going on. Another episode of "how the wedge turns."
Ernest T Bass
Still 32F and iced in. This is one of the most amazing CAD events that I can recall. I thought for sure the line of storms would move us well past the freezing mark. Ground, driveway, road in front of house are all still solid ice. Light to moderate tree ice too. Isopycnic
And that's a wrap. Way too heavy doesn't matter if your stuck in the 20s the ice threat is over for me. Rain will be warmer with the lightning heating it up.. I guess lightning could contribute a little to warming the air...

This winds were quite amazing. My alarm went off for work and immediately after I heard them. I'm not sure what was louder, the wind or the rain. Man it was pouring with that cell. Jonathan
My temperature has actually DROPPED from 31 back down to 30. Wow. Pretty sure I was supposed to be in the 40s by now. What a hellacious CAD event. The event was officially ALL frozen for me. I never expected that. We had HEAVY ZR all night. Over a thousand power outages in my county and neighboring counties. Very surprised mine's still on. It blinked sometime before 4:30am though. Still can't believe my temperature just dropped lol.
