wxduncan
6z RGEM has a major ice storm for the foothills. Widespread .75-1 of ice accrual before changing to rain. Initial moisture shifted north some and the most snow falls in the northern border counties in NC and VA. Would you happen to have those total maps? Brick Tamland
Got down to 12 here with a dp of 1. I don't think the cold air is going to be a problem with the CAD. Just a matter of how much precip we get.

Tacoma
is anyone having trouble getting to NWS, GSP site, I've always had them in my favorites and for some reason the last few days I can't get on to they're site. R they having problems with they're site or did they change they're address?
Tacoma
I can get on any other NWS site say Atlanta and Knoxville, those still come up normally.
drfranklin
I can get on any other NWS site say Atlanta and Knoxville, those still come up normally. just got to GSP easily - run CCleaner, clear cookies, restart your computer - if you are in Asheville, you are most likely on Charter (as is most of Upstate SC)

Tacoma
fellows I sure wish this moisture was coming from the southwest, I never like it when it comes from the west, just doesn't ever seem to be as big of deal . just always seems to be warmer higher up where we're on the boarding of a great snowstorm to more sloppy rain

Currently 26 23 was the lowest I saw it get here. Still a few degrees warmer than forecasted. Not something you want to see 24 hours hours away from a cold rain event. Does the worst ice not make it to the triad due to warmer temps, or did the model run just not go out far enough yer?TW
Cold Rain
I would guess maybe advisory criteria for the Triangle, especially eastern areas, before a flip to rain. I noticed there wasn't much discussion of the 6z models. That tells me something right there.
Regan Raleigh
Starting to see some of the the TV mets such as WRAL and RaleighWx talking about up to 2in snow/sleet (and some people say 1- 3in) for Wake/RDU. It's weird though, if I see correctly, the NWS RAH is still saying 1in or less of their briefing. Always interesting to see the TV go against the NWS for the greater amounts instead of lesser. This all being said, Monday night this won't matter.
Tacoma
why? because it looks like 3-5 inches of snow with a glaze of ice on top, unless things have gone south on us.
franklin NCwx
because it looks like 3-5 inches of snow with a glaze of ice on top, unless things have gone south on us.most of the moisture goes North of us until,it's too warm. We might get an inch or two with a little ice them a lot of rain.
