UlsterCountySnowZ
Once GGEM comes west in 5 min, that's the icing on he cake, then ALL major guidance will be for a mostly rain event... I feel bad for people in western NY looking at that GFS lol

Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk 60-70 degree temperature change in 48 hours is pretty impressive, maybe record breaking for this area. Mitchel Volk
1-3" then a high of 56 on Tuesday. I sure there will be more opportunities for snow this winter.
winterwx21
RGEM/GGEM still show the front end snow Monday afternoon-evening, so I don't see any changes to be disappointed about tonight. I think we all knew that this was going to turn into a huge rainstorm, but that doesn't mean we won't get our front end snow. I'll be happy as long as I get my 1 to 3 inches of snow before the changeover. Yeah it'll get washed away, but it'll be nice for a little while. UlsterCountySnowZ
Euro is 1-2" NW burbs, dusting to inch city south, 2-4 on the extreme NW burbs, then prolific rain
RU848789
Looks like Central Park just reached 1F, breaking the record of 2F. Boston shattered its record of -3F, reaching -9F; same for Hartford, reaching -7F vs. the record of -5F. Updated NWS snowfall maps are up, also, although with model tracks ranging from west of the Apps to along the coast, one should take these with a grain of salt. http://www.weather.gov/images/okx/winter/StormTotalIceWeb.png http://www.weather.gov/images/phi/winter/StormTotalSnowWeb1.png
UlsterCountySnowZ
IMO this storm is now locked in.... Other than the western GFS... Euro, 12knam, 4knam, GGEM, all show a 1-3" event followed by washout

Yanksfan
Shame because we are experiencing brutal temps right now You can blame the lack of of a sustained -NAO for that. Something we haven't seen since 2010. Since then every event is thread the needle, and more often than not it doesn't work out in our favor. We have to consider ourselves lucky to experience the blizzard last month.
SnowGoose69
The NAM also shows that Atlantic wedge on the high poking in trying to keep winds more E or ENE vs SE

Bobby
Nothing worse than a front end snow then a washout. Makes for a sloppy mess. Rather have it either snow or rain. Crazy to think of the temp change happening in the next 24-48 hours.
