Model Mezzanine, the 2nd installment

I'm battle tested...I lived through 1988-1989 to 1991-1992. 4 consecutive winters without a double digit snowfall in ORH. (and of course all those winters well below average snowfall including a top 5 and a top 10)

If only some others lived thru those, They would not be complaining of a bad winter here or there

Talk to me on 3/31. If your largest snow is less than 3.9" we can talk.

Personally, I could get March 2001 and VDay 2007 combined after March 15th and I would be even more pissed because not only would it be too late to save winter recreation for me but it would delay golf season.  If that happened I would have eyewall use his drone to film me diving into the 250' deep granite quarry up the road from my house.

Ok see you then :)

You weren't here in 2011-2012 were you?

BTV had like 35" while I had 90" and J.Spin like 120".

I'm not sure you would've enjoyed that all that more, but at least you could travel to it.  That's what's got me so far...BTV isn't the snowiest place and that's well known.  But you usually won't see the mountains anywhere near this (as even 2011-2012 shows).  We thought we were relatively ratter-proof in the land of orographic lift.  Ma Nature is humbling.

And every other time you visited us up here it seemed to dump snow...you caught like 20" in December 2012 I think it was, among other events.

I didn't know any better. My first vague memory was 83. I remember after the storm.

Great storm but we lost a dog in 83 , ran out the door and was never found. This strung out look on some of the modeling may be what we need to help avoid a cutter, I'll take a long duration snow and mix event over this past Tuesday anyday. No need to brag about a few hours of extra CAD in the morning here only to pop to 57 in the afternoon.

I was an elementary school kid in the 70's, and teenager in the 80's.  The late 70's rocked.  The 80's would pop a big storm once in a great while, but mostly sucked with misses and change over's.  But for some reason, we got used to that cuz it's all we had, and you kind of started not to know any better after a while in the 80's.

No I wasn't. That was the winter I visited for the big February upslope event.

That was a very narrow area that got appreciable snow.  I remember my neighbor having my son and I go up and take one of his businesses snowmobiles through their tour area in Little River State Park because there wasn't much snow.  It was like an upslope only winter.

Nice

I just want to be able to use it again, once I return on March 6.  Increasingly looks like I will.  Models haven't figured it out yet, but it is clear:

1.  There will be a significant storm next week that will give frozen to many.

2.  The pattern is setting up really well for a typical strong nino march snowy pattern.

It is really nice down here in Savannah, and if I return to 1-2 weeks of DADOFBCFTNDDW I will call it a win and start thinking about tilling.

You can park right at it in the old tourist center. I live down across from the current tourist center. You'll know it's my house because of the forlorn snowmobiles on the trailer in the driveway.

Haha sounds good. Anyway the Euro is out in the next hour. We shall see.
