hawkeye_wx
The system was a dud here in Cedar Rapids, only 1.8 or 1.9 inches. I thought 2 inches would be the absolute floor.
Geos
It's just dumping flakes here. Everything was covered within 20 minutes here to the point where I can't see any pavement or grass tips - for the most part.

cyclone77
1.7" with some of the heavier snows I've seen of the event so far despite the radar not looking so good here. Speaking of radar, some real nice returns building near the QC which will move up this way. Most models give us another 0.10" or so of qpf, so we should end up with another 1.5-2". EDIT: DVN 1.2"/MLI 2.6" as of noon.
Thundersnow12
Impressive area of +SN just southwest of immediate DVN that's nearly stalled out
cyclone77
Impressive area of +SN just southwest of immediate DVN that's nearly stalled out Yeah it's sort of teasing me lol. Flake size has been smaller lately outside of the heavier returns, but it's pouring small flakes with fairly low vis.
Geos
That stalled out area of snow is forecast by the HRRR to slide towards Chicagoland by sunset. 0.8" here as of 1:45pm. Another 2.5-3" coming according to the HRRR.

It seems that stretch of I-65 has more accidents than any other section of interstate in the western Great Lakes.
IWXwx
Was the visibility the problem? It seems that stretch of I-65 has more accidents than any other section of interstate in the western Great Lakes. It's flat and wide open, so any wind exacerbates poor driving skills by Hoosiers in snow. EDIT: It kinda reminds me of the 401 between Windsor and London.
