John1122
Snow is streaking all the way down the west side of the Plateau per precip type radars. Covering all of Fentress county. Hope the change works east as the low works NE.
ShawnEastTN
I'm in a dry slot on the radar, but I'm currently 34 with light snow. Upper level temps must be crashing quickly.

John1122
Switched to snow for about 15 minutes then the precip stopped.

John1122
It's almost funny, I spent 8 hours in extremely heavy precip, and as soon as it switched to snow it's like echos over this area shrank to nothing and a dry slot worked right up into my area. Now I'll wait on the band in middle Tennessee to rotate this way and hope for the best out of it.
Kentucky
Picking up in intensity here radar echos starting to move in. Looks like we have some decent bands of snow headed our way
John1122
Looks like we have some decent bands of snow headed our way You may be good for 1-2 inches, possibly more. Slipping to 32 will help you a lot.
John1122
My worry is that the deform band that's formed over Middle Tennessee will just sit there and I'll stay in the dry slot for hours. It seems to happen that way often. I am not seeing much Eastward progress of it right now.
John1122
Hope someone is awake to report on those returns moving up the Southern Plateau and Western Valley area. The have the look of snow on the MRX radar.

ShawnEastTN
It's snowing pretty good here, mixing with sleet though at times. 34 still and wet ground isn't helping for accumulation, but it's trying.
John1122
Man, the Euro went nuts and drops 4-6 inches over the Plateau and up through Kentucky by 7 am.
ShawnEastTN
It's over here already. Though I'm so far south unless this thing begins bombing and it can really grow the comma head then I'm not going to see much more. Was nice though to see it end as snow. John1122
Snows light to moderate here for 5 minutes then stops for 5. Impressive radar returns come very close but then break up over Campbell County. Looks like a slug of heavy snow about to move out of Scott and Morgan over us, if it doesn't break up too. John1122
Big wet flakes coming down pretty well but this thing is booking it out, probably gonna be gone by 4 am.
Runman292
John, has the LP sped up or what? It's looking like precipitation will end sooner than the models were showing.
John1122
John, has the LP sped up or what? It's looking like precipitation will end sooner than the models were showing. It split, one part has sped up the Apps and is in southern West Virginia already, another part is heading into South Carolina by looking at the current surface map. Weird how models were basically 50/50 on it taking one of those two paths and it took both. It's being kicked out by the clipper dropping in behind it. That's why it's moving faster, the clipper is catching up with it.

PowellVolz
MRX has lowered my temps to 42 today and added in a mix for tonight with the clipper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dwagner88
We dropped back below freezing this morning. A lot of slick bridges around (and wrecks), and the doors on my truck were totally frozen shut. Wasn't expecting that.

JayCee
Yeah you really are in a sweet spot. I love the area you live in, would love one day to buy property up that way, especially on a NW facing slope. One of my favorite hikes up your way is Devils Race Track. Its so strange I've talked about the sort of micro CAD effect on this side of the valley year after year on here, never heard Morristown ever acknowledge any such effect until now. Agreed. A couple of acres of wooded land with a cabin in the middle, at about 2,000 feet in elevation.
PowellVolz
Listening to the scanner, Emory Rd and Norris Fwy is really bad. Multiple wrecks and they are asking for salt trucks. I live pretty close to there and it was 31' when I left this morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Silas Lang
Just wanted to say, what an interesting storm! Roasted here in JC yesterday. Got up to 55! However, ended up with 3 inches from the Sunday dump. Not too bad. Really crazy the storm dynamics the valley is capable of producing.
