John1122
Visibility down to around 1/2 mile or less here. Quarter sized flakes. All snow, no sleety characteristics.

PowellVolz
Amazing I'm just a few miles crow fly from moderate snow and radar trends look to keep it there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
John1122
There's a small area of 30-35 dbz returns over Scott Co heading my way. To get 35 dbz snow over the center of the Plateau where radar coverage is so poor means it's really really ripping down there.
Jed33
Must be some down sloping going on here because the returns are drying up on the eastern edge, but re building toward the mountains.
John1122
I'm in an absolute white out, this is the heaviest it's snowed this year. I've got an inch on the ground now. Visibility is maybe 1/8th mile. My driveway is 500 feet long or so and I can barely see to the end of it. Temp went down to 19.6.

Olhausen
This is a big bust snow wise for White House. We didn't even get a quarter inch of snow before it switched to freezing rain. 26 degrees and freezing rain instead of snow.

It's gonna be a huge mess there with mid 20s freezing rain on top of even the 1/4th inch of snow.
Jed33
Got moderate to heavy snow now. Fine flakes though.

JayCee
I'm so close but so far away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, same here. A bit disappointing to have plenty of cold, but moisture lacking in many areas.
John1122
The weird thing is that it's mixing or switching to freezing rain in areas where the 850, 925 and surface temps are all sub-freezing. I'm not sure where the warm layer is, must be between 700 and 850 with another between 850 and 925.
FreshNeoG
Zilch here after a quick sleeting a couple of hours.
JayCee
A small pocket of moisture broke away from the main area, and the small "dot" on the radar came right over me northeast of Sevierville. Moderate snow fell for about 2-3 minutes. Just enough to start coating the cold road.

John1122
2 inches down here. Probably manage another inch and then there will be a break in the precip. But it's rapidly filling in over Arkansas into west Tennessee and it's starting to get going in Northern Mississippi. The 18z NAM has a 12 hour mix/ice situation event for my area after this band of snow is over. Hopefully it's wrong.
Jed33
Just measured an inch here at the house. Still pouring down!
John1122
The band crossing Crossville now should start putting snow down in Knox along and north of 40 over the next hour, provided it's all snow. Crossville is reporting "unknown" which is usually a sure sign of sleet/zr/snow. It may be close though, the radar looks like it's starting to take a slight sw to ne look vs due w to e.
