John1122
Lord, the GFS may cut central Tennessee but it's got 10-20 inches down in parts of the Northern plateau.
Runman292
Lord, the GFS may cut central Tennessee but it's got 10-20 inches down in parts of the Northern plateau. The GFS wants to eliminate Northwest Anderson County. For 3 straight runs, it shows 2 feet of snow there.

John1122
NW Anderson, Northern Morgan and SW Campbell are in that 2 ft circle on tropical. The elevation there is 3200-3600 feet. That area had 2 feet a few weeks ago.

1234snow
WxBell maps show the accumulation in the plateau in greater detail. Like John said it has to be pushing a foot in those higher plateau locations. I wish I could zoom in some.
John1122
My official stance is to cut 40 percent off clown maps. I'm going to cut 60 off that GFS run, at least the tropical map. I'd still get 5 or 6 inches.

John1122
Question why do the snow totals on this pages models look different then the ones on pivotal weather They all use a different formula for snowfall. I usually blend then cut 40 percent off.

Daniel Boone
Canadian and Gfs are picking up on what was discussed earlier regarding the eastern Cumberland plateau rim ssw wind upsloping. The Nam products completely missed it last year and from the looks of it are again. Apparently a component not programmed into it. It had Lee county getting under an inch last February of which Jonesville reported 19" . Many structures suffered damage and some collapsing. Many sections of Lee & Wise counties had 2-3 feet on the ground.

Carvers Gap
12z Canadian cuts west of the Apps. The 12z Euro welcomes it aboard as does the 0z GFS. Lows that run up the Valley into cold air are tricky business. I wonder if the slp is cutting because the HP is a blocking it northward.
