84 Hour NAM
I figured this needs its own thread as the main thread is being dominated by Monday/Tuesday talk. NAM is on board with at least a few inches for Eastern NC and parts of Central NC. GGEM is a dusting. Euro has the idea as well.
downeastnc
Yeah this needs to payoff for us, I have been on the rain side of every system so far and have had maybe .10" sleet all winter....Nam still shows it would be nice to see the GFS start to pick up on it at 18Z....need that coastal development for this to work though... SteveVa
I'm still hoping for an event on Friday since chances are slim for any wintry precip early next week. NAM 12km looks good but it's not enough to get my hopes up.

DopplerWx
Yep 18z GFS close to the euro. Nam still is the juiciest but we have time for the globally to trend better. Could be a nice event if we get the precip.

downeastnc
The trends today are nice and the temps are not really the issue its the moisture and the models seem to be catching on to the low being stronger/wetter....that warm ocean water might finally pay off.....not to mention with the cold shot coming behind it whatever falls will stick around 3-4 days and might really cause Sat night lows to get ridiculous if there is a snowpack around. shaggy
We have to hope the year long trend of almost every system being wetter as it approaches holds true for this event.

Hoping we can all cash in for a few inches. Guess we will see if the euro and GFS start to sniff out the increased precip the nam shows

Hoping we can all cash in for a few inches. Guess we will see if the euro and GFS start to sniff out the increased precip the nam shows Typically this is how we get our snows, they are not modeled well at all until 3-4 days out and they slowly go from fringe event to decent snowstorm....Nam keeps us at or below freezing for the event then we go into the freezer over the weekend with snow cover thats friggen awesome if it pans out.... MHX has added this to my point and click, so they are at least acknowledging that they see it Friday A slight chance of rain and snow after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
