North Balti Zen
Might be time to give up in the city. It's a downtown bust in Baltimore, that's for sure.
RichmondTarHeel
Isn't that where you're reporting from? I'm at work now in Tyson's. I live in Herndon.

BlizzardNole
I am only two miles from you. my temp is 34! can't be that different from your area. Time for me to get a new thermometer! How much do you have on the ground?

WxUSAF
Echoes quickly fizzling in Winchester and Charles town area. That's discouraging.
Fozz
Echoes quickly fizzling in Winchester and Charles town area. That's discouraging. I think it's just about over. Maybe some snowTV this afternoon.
feloniousq
Oh, well that's a little sad then. Radar watching it looked like Herndon and Western ffx were getting some good snow. Plenty of snow falling in Reston, but roads are just wet and it's even melting on grass now.
Grothar of Herndon
Echoes quickly fizzling in Winchester and Charles town area. That's discouraging. I think there was sun sighting in a recent post from Winchester area.
das
I am only two miles from you. my temp is 34! can't be that different from your area. It can be quite different. Right at the bend in 355 where Brink Road enters from the east seems to be the dividing line. North of there is always colder and snowy-er. SomeguyfromTakomaPark
LOL dry air worked into that band right when it got to DC. Oh well! So much for any snowtv. NEXT.
Ji
Good burst of snow again. only here can it snow steady in early February and melt more than it sticks
cae
I've been somewhat dryslotted for most of the day, but we had one nice band with huge flakes pass by earlier. Temperature was down to 32 this morning, now back up to 33. About 1.75" of snow. It's not a lot, but it's great snow for snowmen and snowballs. Amped
LOL dry air worked into that band right when it got to DC. Oh well! So much for any snowtv. NEXT. Was too warm anyway. If models were not 5 degrees to low with temps in this metro every firiggen day, that'd be great.

Yeah but I was hoping for a nice hour or two of heavy snowTV. Even failed on that.
psuhoffman
only here can it snow steady in early February and melt more than it sticks with temps in the 30s it had to rip. I've been disapointed with the banding honestly. Small pockets of heavy stuff but no organized death bands really where somewhere is ripping 2-3" hr. Light to moderate with sporadic burts won't work with above freezing mid day. I'm doing well purely because of my elevation. Rates have been kinda weak much of the time. stormtracker
Might be time to give up in the city. Careful, BTrwx will be along shortly to tell you to focus on being a professional. Actually, there were people still hanging on in the city?
dailylurker
Never did a thing here in AA county. Total bust (which I knew was very likely). Looks like frozen mud for the cold shot this week.
Amped
Yeah but I was hoping for a nice hour or two of heavy snowTV. Even failed on that. We got a slushy 2" and it's half melted. The only thing crushed in this zone was are hopes.
Stormpc
Every echo or "band" that approached my hood vanished on my doorstep. Im loving that there is something going on above that has prevented nearly all precip from getting here. I am very impressed actually.

PhineasC
with temps in the 30s it had to rip. I've been disapointed with the banding honestly. I'm doing well purely because of my elevation. Rates have been kinda weak much of the time. This frequently happens in our events. Honestly, the models often spit out good rates but at game time we have spotty precip. We just don't notice as much at 28 degrees when every flake sticks no matter the rates. In events like this, the little lulls really hurt.
87storms
This was basically a strung out mess with marginal temps relying on what seemed like leftover moisture. Just wasn't our storm.
