nw baltimore wx
It will be interesting to see what LWX does. They will have to make the call by the 3 PM package. Warnings for the northern tier, advisories down through DC with watches still in place for Hoco and southern Baltimore?
NinjaWarrior2
If Euro comes in at least semi-snowy for Baltimore and Northern MD, I expect Winter Storm Warnings for them, Anne Arundel County and south should drop to Winter Weather Advisories. Also UKMET is another Baltimore precip jack. ,UKMET map shows 3C around DC 18z tomorrow, 5C Line Richmond ENE. UKIE is a little warm for comfort for Baltimore/NE MD PUMMELED , highs 36 Tuesday Afternoon. >>Well I was wrong NWS Pulled Trigger, might change to Advisory though with bad Euro/18z RGEM and GFS. SomeguyfromTakomaPark
I don't see that on meteocentre -- http://meteocentre.com/models/get_mgram.php?stn=Washington&mod=ukmet&run=12&var=std〈=en&map=us I was using the map but I guess the meteograms are more accurate. On the map the 5 Celsius line makes it north of DC at 18z.

From what I saw, DC doesn't go below freezing until nearly Wed morning.
WinterWxLuvr
Watches and warnings don't cause snow to fall. Having said that, I think that it says something that there are no advisories at all for most of the region.
Joshfsu123
It's a useless product IMO. Sorry. Been here, had this convo before. Thanks for that... but I already know that. Others may not, so glad you were able to help them out.

LWX has been holding them off since no precip was to fall in the form of snow till late tonight, so they have time to evaluate more model runs (per their AFD)

WinterWxLuvr
Agreed. Neither does a forecast for 6-9". Don't need the euro to make my forecast but I'll probably toss my numbers up around 115 I think a model gives much more insight into what might happen that a watch or warning. I think for some, the watch/warning thing just adds to their excitement. And that's ok.

RevWarReenactor
Up here in NE MD, I feel like this is the first storm since I've lived here (2010) that might not go lock step with DC. Still not much confidence. The cold air will be where the rates are. Light rates will be non accu snow IMO.

Sure doesn't have that pre-snow feel.I wanna say it was a snow, zwyts of gym help? 2/26/12 I believe that snowed when it was nearly 70 prior to the snow? MacintoshPro
Just hit 50 degrees and sunny at work outside DC. Sure doesn't have that pre-snow feel. It was 60 degrees before the first 2" snowstorm in 3 years at DCA in January 2014 Of course I would kill a puppy monkey baby to have that airmass in place for this storm. Personally it has always seemed like a CYA tool to me. Not even sure why they do these maps animated (unless I am wrong on that)... put the map out once or twice a day, and have it done by an actual person. Would make it better, imo... But yeah, I'm not expecting much and definitely not staying up for it. If I wake up with snow on the ground, great.
