Fozz
Uh-huh...I knew they were gonna back off of that 6-9 inches in the previous watch. That was just crazy, lol 4-8" is still a little high IMO
North Balti Zen
Right - because such a massive difference between 6-9 and 4-8. Scoreboard! Deck Pic
I wanna say it was a snow, zwyts of gym help? 2/26/12 I believe that snowed when it was nearly 70 prior to the snow? Had around 4 inches in Baltimore, lesser amounts toward DC. you're thinking of 2/21-22/2011
Ltrain
Winter Storm Warning for me but my point and click still says 2-4" total which is a good call. I don't think I should be in a Warning but whatever
87storms
One thing I don't think we want with borderline temps is the precip to be showery which can happen with these types of disorganized systems as they cross the mountains.
T. August
4-8" is still a little high IMO Sounds good to me. I'm sure there will be a few spots that pick up 8", and most likely a general 3-4" in southern areas of the warnings.
gymengineer
you're thinking of 2/21-22/2011 And that wasn't a good outcome down here anyway as you know. It was a pretty bad short term bust with WSW as close as MoCo.

MacintoshPro
My forecast for anyone who cares: DC and points south: dusting-2" Howard/Baltimore city: 2-5" Harford/Baltimore counties: 3-7" I dislike the word dusting when temperatures are above freezing. That implies light powdery snow, with high ratios, which won't happen in this storm. /rant

BlizzardNole
Mid 40s in most locations already. I remember a several inch snow in early February, 1997 when it was quite warm the day before. It was a Friday and forecasts of accumulating snow sounded far-fetched with temps in the upper 50s to near 60, sun and no wind. I was out and about with no jacket. We did end up getting about 6" of wet snow the next day. I don't know what kind of set-up it was. Anyone remember that one?

PhineasC
Temps the day before don't really matter if cold air arrives for the storm. Unfortunately, temps tomorrow don't look much better.

MillvilleWx
4-8" is still a little high IMO I told Matt last night I liked a general 3-6" in our warned zone with possible up to 10" if someone gets really lucky with some kind of crazy band(s). For Baltimore city 1-4" with the higher totals toward areas like Randallstown. For DC proper, 1-2" with a gradient toward the NW into MoCo. I see the Jack running around Parrs ridge region up to Mappy over to places near Norrisville in Harford over to NEMD Pummeled.

Because the early February storm wasn't that warm right before.
