nyblizz44
This is very impressive at the moment here in NE Queens. The fact that we are on the western most edge near JFK and getting pounded for the last hour speaks volumes of the strngth of this monster.inch down in the last hour, included paved road way. Dark Star
Looks like the westward progression stopped. The NYC skyline was completely obscured from my vantage point in Linden NJ, however, I don't think we will see any accumulating snow.

nyblizz44
Hate to tell you but it has begun to ligten up here near JFK after aprox 1.5 Inch, maybe we can squeeze out another .5 but the band is thinning and slowly pulling east according to radar trends. on and off snowshowers and then onwards to the IVT and hope it pounds us tomorrow. Guest Pamela
We've got about 8 inches of snow on the ground here in Port Jefferson...of course, only about 2 inches of it has fallen today. The greater depths are in areas that were not well exposed.
Guest Pamela
Radar beginning to fall apart just a bit; the cyclonic center simply too far away to provide the requisite vertical motion needed to keep the snow making process going at a heavy clip...though it will likely continue to snow lightly to maybe occasionally moderately throughout the daylight hours.. swataz
I was looking at a high-resolution radar just now and it seems as if the back end of the stuff is moving north and east somehwat rapidly. Am I seeing things?

Guest Pamela
Nice band has been sort of quasi stationary over Northern Nassau & far NW Suffolk...about as far east as Fort Salonga, I'd say...and at least 11 or 12 miles to my west. Looking at trends, by the time it gets here...it will likely be too late.
Snowshack
Sky has noticeably brightened in Hauppauge. Steady SN- since I got here at 9:30...don't think theres been more than an inch since then although there is a bit of blowing around.
nyblizz44
Gotta say I expected snow to be done based on radar trends, about 40 minutes ago when snow lightened, BUT Moderate snow has refired for the last 15 minutes. Eyeballing near 2 inches. Pleasant surprise, with outside shot at 3 inches and more to come tonight and tomorrow.
