lakeeffectkid383
Heavy sleet here in Newport waking me up. Don't see a solitary flake. Wind is more impressive than I was expecting.just up the bay from you in Warwick we paste. Moderate snow sticking to everything, roads already a mess. Power lines and trees already starting to sag here which has me really worried if we don't cool down anymore and dry out this snow.
HimoorWx
Decided to get up early and take the early train before the roads got bad. 36 and rain at 4:30, 33 and snow when I left just before 5:30. Elevation is about 225' at home and then I gain a little elevation driving on the southern fringe of the Blue Hills on the way to the train. I've seen it before, but it is amazing what that little elevation gain does to the roads - went from wet to snow covered and then back to wet when I got back down near the Neponset River. SR Airglow
Coming down nicely again and flake size is picking up also. Probably right around 1/2sm visibility and a half an inch or so OTG. Will measure when I head out to the office in a bit.

Yea, that's been a real risk the whole time with all the paste forecasted. Combine with a bit of gustiness and local power outages will probably happen. I don't think Salve has closed which is a little silly. A bunch of my wife's colleagues won't be happy as they commute in. Well who am I kidding, they are professors; they'll stay at home. weathafella
I'm kind of pissed at Brookline for keeping schools open. I guess they don't realize mid day is disaster. I will say that the plows are out...even my little street has seen one so they have a mindset to keep on going.
