lakeeffectkid383
I 3.3" in an hour not bad, maybe a sign of things to come? a see some definte northward movement on CLE radar so we should be back in the game within the next two hours..i don't see any northward trend what so ever on CLE radar... There's not even much going on, on the CLE radar.
ayuud11
Ii don't see any northward trend what so ever on CLE radar... There's not even much going on, on the CLE radar. You are right, this current band is going to die down then a new one forms, if you loop it you could see some returns on that tail end..

I don't see any new returns at all on CLE radar.
DeltaT13
Seems hard to believe that band can reform and do much more damage. The front has already crossed the upper peninsula. Upstream radars are west southwest at best and NNW over superior. That front is moving in fast.
tim123
Thinking there is a explosion as front near Toronto to detroit. To much shear for most of morning. Goin to happen quick once it does. 0 too 100.
tim123
Situation were you get a foot in 3 4 hours. Goin to be a horrible eve ride. Roc even looks to get a few inches with front. Then lake snow.
BuffaloWeather
I've never seen models perform as badly as they have with this LES event. All models had the band in Niagara county by noon.
BuffaloWeather
Picked up 3" so far. Band is moving back in now.
SouthBuffaloSteve
Yeah seeing the new alignment taking shape. Let's see if we can get a lock here and not a quick push north. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Buffalo Bumble
Yeah seeing the new alignment taking shape. Let's see if we can get a lock here and not a quick push north. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Snow is starting again here too. Picked up about 3 inches very early this morning, was very surprised to see how the band behaved overnight. Hopefully this doesn't zip up to Grand Island and hang out there until front pushes through.
tim123
7 to 13 inches Monroe County to cayuga. We shall see. The way this winter has been not a ton of faith. But this may be our best shot for Lake snow rest of season
AppsRunner
Really not finding a ton of support for 5-9" in Oswego co. tonight. We'll see if all the WRFs are wrong, but that much from an arctic front (albeit strong) seems a little optimistic.
Buffalo Bumble
Band is really strengthening at the northeastern end of Erie. And I like the look of the bands upstream off Huron. I'm in heavy snow now, but if this moves much farther north I'll be out of it. I think some places in Northern Erie/Niagara counties get hit quite hard over the next 4+ hours. DeltaT13
That band is making up for lost time quick. Looking strong with 35-40dbz returns, it's a race against the clock now. I'm hoping you guys get pummeled.

SouthBuffaloSteve
She's a beaut! Only a hair over 3 inches here. Looks like it's already lifted just north of downtown and the airport. If that stays locked in place for the next 5-6 hours until the front drops down could be some good totals for the north towns. I'm thinking I'll be lucky to break 6 inches here at this point. Syrmax
12z GFS looks juicy for CNY...all snow. Maybe mixing towards BGM ...just one run, more gyrations to follow. Take a look at the latest KBGM vs KBUF snow maps...i'll take the under, which is KBGM's idea, for tonight and Sat., at least here in the border area. Stash
Keep hoping for nudges east to keep Upstate NY in the game (well, Eastern Upstate). I've only taken the shovel out once this season!
CNY_WX
There is such a tight precipitation gradient on this GFS run that taken verbatim Utica could end up with 18 inches, Syracuse 12, Geneva 4-6, and Rochester 1-3.

I'm starting to think this storms sole purpose in life is to F with all the upstate NY'ers who've been waiting for a synoptic storm for over a year now. It's like it wants to run right up the Hudson Valley as a 980 mb low and give everyone from SYR west the finger as its snow shield covers a whopping 10 mile wide corridor of the eastern Dacks. While ALB rains, BUF suns, and everyone in between smokes cirrus.... That little rant over...heavy snow has moved back in here and band is looking really healthy. ayuud11
Man I'm still sitting at those 3 inches, the mesoscale models underestimated how fast the band was going to move through.. It's already at the S.Niagara border.

ENYsnow
Looks like the euro actually flips all of NYS over at one point or another.. very briefly far west as mix line quickly crashes SE and pounds from BUF-ROC-ART.
rochesterdave
Euro brings 850 0c to just east of Buf. Period of rain or mix Batavia east.
Gravity Wave
Well, we have the Euro as the extreme west outlier, the CMC as the extreme east outlier, and the UKMET and GFS in the middle. Not much reason to take any of them seriously with all of them flipping from run to run (except maybe the Ukie).
WNash
I'm hitting the snooze button on the early week storm. Too much volatility to get worked up. LES band off Erie seems to have widened after shifting north of Metro. Southerly trend may be coming from downstream.
