bluewave
Yea. The soundings support snow after a couple hours of rain. Suffolk Co could see 6"+ heavy wet snow. Yeah, getting over 6" seems to be the magic number for broken branches with heavy wet snow.
dmillz25
.75+ NYC and .5+ is west of ewr That's warning snows if it happens like that

MJO812
Chances are this will be slop in the city temps are and have been warm these last few days We have seen many snow events after a week of warm temps. It all depends on the rates. It was good to see the Nam shift west.

ag3
1-3" tops in NYC 4-6" in LI 2"-4"/3"-6" for NYC. Nothing supports 1" for NYC; The NAM is the least amount and has 3". Most other models are 3"-6". LI will likely be 4"-8". And that's IF it doesn't continue to push west. If it pushed west even 25 miles more, NYC would be in warning snows. snywx
Look at the 0.75"+ contour tick Southeast. I realize it doesn't mean much for the immediate coast but it does up this way. 03z 09z SREFs are actually wetter for up here.
IsentropicLift
This is going to be a pretty hard pill to swallow tomorrow, especially in places that got shafted in the blizzard. Hoping this comes another 50 miles West.

This was never even remotely a threat for those of us that got shafted for the blizzard....shouldn't really matter getting fringed on this one
Kaner587
To anyone talking about warm ground and warm temps prior to storm see post super bowl storm 2014. 8 inches in NYC after temps in mid 50's day prior. As long as snow is heavy (ie rates >0.5/hr) this will accumulate, even in the concrete jungle
