jm1220
Looks like some good echos are coming into the NYC area now, especially Queens, so hopefully there will be accumulations everywhere at least.

Guest Pamela
Now 5.2" of new snow in Port Jefferson as of 8:35 AM. Went over to snow at 3:45 AM and came down hard, especially since 7 AM. All the models did zero in on this part of Suffolk as something of an epicenter... Port Jeff with 6.0" as of 9:35 AM. Snow picking up as some heavier echoes move up from the SSW. Temp 32 F with snow and occasional blowing snow.

Queens has 2"-4" right now. Manhattan is a cement nasty factory. Terrible for marginal events.

Cfa
Beginning to come down harder, I'm eyeballing about 4 inches so far, very heavy looking stuff. 32.0F and it still hasn't really gone below freezing yet.

Guest Pamela
thumping here. looks as good or better than most of the blizzard (other than the heavy band we got around 4:30pm). incredible. Have to agree with you there...this storm is extremely picturesque with the snow sticking to everything...that storm 2 weeks ago rates as the most boring blizzard I've ever lived through...at least out here. forkyfork
fyi, a whiteout is when you literally can't see anything. if you can see a car 10 feet away it's not a whiteout
F5TornadoF5
fyi, a whiteout is when you literally can't see anything. if you can see a car 10 feet away, it's not a whiteout I thought it was 1/8th mile visibility. Anyways thanks. Couldn't see more than 200 feet while taking the measurement.

mob1
The Park is currently still at 31, and it has been at 32 or lower for 4 hours, it's something to keep in mind for future events that models show the 32 surface line well NW of us, look at all other factors instead of taking it verbatim. weatherpruf
Looks to be 2-3 in central NJ; difficult call for the school super today; timing of the storm was bad. WE had a delay then a cancel at the last possible moment. Not due to the size of the storm, but the timing. If we came in and let out early, we would be letting out after the storm is over, parents would be upset. If we come in late, we risked being on the roads when they are still bad. And the buses are not so great in the slush. It appears to be winding down here already don't know if we get another shot
