John1122
The really cold upper levels are showing in the report from LeConte this morning. -6 with 13 inches of new snow since the upslope started. The high there was only 5 yesterday.
Carvers Gap
Decent squall over Kingsport about an hour ago. Here's a shot from the intersection of Eastman Rd and Ft Henry Drive near my office (on the left, not the We Buy Gold store on the right, btw ) at 7:20am this morning. WCenter10FEB16.jpg I go through that intersection almost every day. LOL. Small world. Definitely shaping up to be a cold week. Took my kids walking before they had to go to school since they were on a delay. We lasted fifteen minutes. Then fired-up the wood stove.
ShawnEastTN
This is only related because the topic says through the 12th, but has anyone else noticed that the energy that is streaking southward appears to have a bit more moisture than originally thought. MRX just changed my forecast for snow showers tonight, from dry this morning.

John1122
If that actually translates East I can see a state wide 1 inch or so. It's very robust looking on radar.
ShawnEastTN
Clouds are definitely thickening and lowering here. Very smooth appearance of Virga removing definition from the overcast that rapidly moved in.

Stovepipe
It'd be funny if I end up with more accumulation from this surprise jet streak than I did through all of the previous storm lol.

Chattownsnow
Sadly these returns here are yeilding but a single flake. Go figure it's just too dry when I finally get steady returns over head... I take it back. Literally one sad flurry made it down while I just stared out the window for about 20 seconds. Success lol

Greyhound
Looking at radar, seems its starting to diminish. At first I thought it might have been not being able to see the returns b/c of it coming over the plateau. But the more I look at it, seems its dying out. Dangit!!!! John1122
Up to a 60 percent chance of snow with up to an inch accumulation starting late Thursday night into Friday. Most models are spitting out .5 to 1 inch for East Tennessee.
JayCee
CMC shows an nice little narrow band of heavier snow coming into East TN with the next system. It's a very narrow band if this model is correct. More like a "snow streak." http://collaboration.cmc.ec.gc.ca/cmc/cmdn/pcpn_type/pcpn_type_gem_reg.html
John1122
Euro showing a general .5-1 inch with up to 1.5 inches with this little clipper for parts of the state outside the mountains. 2+ in the higher elevations.
