Decent squall over Kingsport about an hour ago. Here's a shot from the intersection of Eastman Rd and Ft Henry Drive near my office (on the left, not the We Buy Gold store on the right, btw ;) ) at 7:20am this morning.

I go through that intersection almost every day.  LOL.  Small world.  Definitely shaping up to be a cold week.  Took my kids walking before they had to go to school since they were on a delay.  We lasted fifteen minutes.  Then fired-up the wood stove.

MRX just out.  On this issue:

.SHORT TERM (TONIGHT AND THURSDAY)...LIGHT SNOW IS BEING REPORTED
ACROSS EASTERN MO AND IA IN ASSOCIATION WITH AN UPPER LEVEL JET
STREAK AND CHANNELED VORT MAX. THE MODELS SHOW THIS JET PUSHING
INTO OUR AREA THIS EVENING...AND PRODUCE SOME LIGHT QPF WITH IT.
MOISTURE IS LIMITED BUT WITH TEMPERATURES SO COLD...THERE SHOULD BE
ENOUGH FOR SCATTERED TO ISOLATED SNOW SHOWERS TONIGHT. LESS THAN
ONE INCH ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED.

Sadly these returns here are yeilding but a single flake. Go figure it's just too dry when I finally get steady returns over head... I take it back. Literally one sad flurry made it down while I just stared out the window for about 20 seconds. Success lol

Chat is now reporting light snow are you still getting blanked?

OHX just issued and SPS for it.  Just checked still light snow being reported as far NW as St. Louis.

...SNOW SHOWERS TO MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THIS EVENING...

SNOW SHOWERS HAVE MOVED INTO THE AREA...AND LOOK TO CONTINUE OFF
TO THE EAST DURING THE EVENING AND EARLY OVERNIGHT HOURS.
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE LIGHT...WITH MAINLY A DUSTING UP TO AROUND A
HALF INCH ACROSS THE AREA. WITH CONTINUED BELOW FREEZING
TEMPERATURES...SOME SLICK SPOTS ON ROADWAYS MAY DEVELOP AND MAY
CREATE SOME HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS. USE CAUTION WHEN
TRAVELING...ESPECIALLY ON SECONDARY ROADS.

Looking at radar, seems its starting to diminish. At first I thought it might have been not being able to see the returns b/c of it coming over the plateau. But the more I look at it, seems its dying out. Dangit!!!!

Our dewpoint is 7 degrees too so it'll get chewed up in the dry air for a bit.  For what it's worth, the latest RAP shows a half inch for TYS.
